KUEBITZ RESIDENCE

Insulated concrete forms, fox blocks

Runner-up in the 2017 ICF Builders Awards for Best Large Residential!

Desiring to return home after many years of living abroad and world travel, this family of six dreamed of their own Mas Provencal - a traditional Southern French stone farmhouse. Much research, in addition to Laurie's own personal experience in France, led to a painstakingly authentic and personalized design.

Inspired by the north African influences all over the Mediterranean, the center of the home is a jewel: a Moroccan-themed courtyard, delivering light, air and the cool sounds of a bubbling fountain throughout the home. In the hot summer months, the interior courtyard will serve as a cool oasis from hot east-county sun and winds.

Insulated Concrete Forms were the chosen construction method, not only for their great durability, fire resistive and insulative properties, but also for their thickness. All the exterior walls are one foot thick solid masonry. This house will not only look like the real thing, but it will feel like it too.
